Modern Leather Baseballs
The modern style baseball, commonly known as the “figure 8” style baseball first appeared in 1872. With the invention of this style baseball, the lemon peel style became obsolete. Leather Head’s figure 8 baseball’s are made by hand. We start by cutting the cover panels with a real baseball cutting die. We use superior leather and real baseball cores. Each ball is hand stitched using sturdy waxed linen thread.
